You can use whichever one you want, I'm not your dad. One of them is cool and fun and the other is dumb and boring. To actually note locations, you need a coordinate system, and you have two options: console coordinates or homebrewed beacon triangulation. If you want to keep track, make like it's a '90s-era adventure game and break out a notepad. When commenters or forum posters say they want a map in the game, they usually want a way to cross off explored areas or remember important locations. So, for those that don't want to use internet cheats and screwtube walkthroughs, this area design can be frustrating.Since there's no in-game Subnautica map, you're going to need to take some notes yourself. You also seemed to miss the point about landmarks being hard to see in the constant whiteout. As for the map you find in the game, I've seen more informative diagrams done in a pre-school fingerpainting class. loll As I stated in the post, I did find the antidote, the frozen guy and the alien stuff. It has also got all the landmarks you need. The antidote isnt in the open and requires a pengling which is very easy to find with the map you get and a PDA message froom somewhere. There's some pretty things in BZ but also some pretty bad things (writing/dialogue) that I won't miss. lollĪfter participating in EA and giving BZ a full post-release play, I'll probably go back to Sn1 if I need to scratch that Subnautica itch again. ![]() The area is as annoying as I remembered.Īfter participating in EA and giving BZ a full post-release play, I'll probably go back to Sn1 if I need to scratch that Subnautica itch again. Just be sure to take several beacons in there with you. Wanted to give it a fair post release play through. ![]() I did the area a couple of times in EA and still spent 4 hours walking in circles last night until I found the antidote, the frozen guy and the alien stuff. You should have a compass by the time you try this area though. Originally posted by Sprocket66:The area design is lacking. It would also reduce a lot of the frustration of finding your way around the area.Īfter participating in EA and giving BZ a full post-release play, I'll probably go back to Sn1 if I need to scratch that Subnautica itch again. On the rare minute here and there that you can actually see beyond 4 meters you'll see that they did some impressive artwork. They went to some effort to make the area very pretty but you almost never get to actually see it. The area would be improved if the constant snowstorm was turned off.
